Blog Identity - Flirty Thirty Something

Tuesday Topics: Blog Identity

Tuesday Topics is here! Can't wait to read all about your blogs!
Here are my answers:

What is your blog about?
My blog is about little things in lie that I enjoy, such as spending time with my wonderful Fiance, my life and sharing photos and snippets from my short stories.

Why did you start blogging?
I guess I decided to start blogging because everyone else was doing it and I wanted to be in with the crowd. But now the more I do it, the more I enjoy sharing things.

What's something your readers know about you?
I wouldn't know because I only have 4 people who follow me. :-(

What can't you live without?
Kevin, family, friends, my laptop, my iPhone and my camera.

What inspires your blog posts?
My life and things that I see and just feel a connection to.

What do you do when you feel uncreative?
I try to read a book or look through old photographs to find inspiration. But if I'm feeling like I need to get out, I try to go for a walk and take my camera with me.

How has blogging changed you?
I don't think blogging has changed me, Kevin doesn't read my blog so I can't really say that I have changed. I have tried to be much more creative and try to write or blog everyday. But doing my hectic job it's not always easy to find the time to blog.

What advice do you have for new bloggers?
I'd have to agree with the author of the blog I copied this from - Lauren and say just be yourself and live your life.
Don't let your blog take over your life. Try to aim to post at least 2-3 posts a week.

Last but not least! What blogs inspire you?
This is going to be hard. I have so many that I want to include, but as there are so many I will encourage you to follow me and have a look.

Quote from the Desk Calendar

"All Marriages are Happy. It's trying to live together afterwards that causes all the problems."

- This was so funny, I had to share it.

Stories By Me - Page update

http://flirty30somethingramblings.blogspot.co.uk/p/stories-by-me.html

Good Things Beauty Products

Hello my Lovelies.

I haven't been around for a while as I've not really had much time to post due to trying to juggle three jobs and deliver my Avon products. But when I was in my local Sainsbury's the other day I came across these little beauties on special offer at half their RRP. Here's what I came home with.

Five minute Facial Mask. This has a gorgeous smell to it and left my skin feeling soft and smooth, not dry like it normally feels. I used it after the product below.

Deep Clean Blackhead Exfoliator. This is amazing! It's got a really nice licorice smell and it's not too strong of a smell. It's very grainy but as soon as you apply it you can actually feel it working.

Next I got the bright eyes eye treatment.

This is just as good as any other brightening cream for the eyes. It got rid of my tired looking eyes from Saturday night in a jiffy yesterday morning.
I want to try the whole range now!!!

Have you tried any Good Things products?

NaNoWriMo - The 30 Day Challenge

NaNoWriMo
I'm finally going to do this. As many of you know, I do like to write short stories, but this is much more of a challenge. 50.000 words in 30 days. I will of course post my story once it's finished.

I'll tell you this - It's called "A Forgotten Love".

Me, Myself and I

What is your favourite season and why?
I like Autumn (Fall) but also like Summer. Autumn is cool (sometimes cold but not too cold) and crisp, just warm enough so that you can still wear a cardi and not a thick coat. Summer because I can look forward to my holiday in the sun and not have to worry about work for a week or two.

Talk about a moment that changed your life.
A moment that changed my life would be finally meeting the man, I know I want to spend the rest of my life with. Kevin.

If you could be any Crayola crayon, what would you be and why?
Purple. Just because it's my ALL time favourite colour.

Describe yourself as a superhero.
I don't relate to ANY superhero's to be honest. But if I had to, Wonderwoman. I like to try and fulfill my life with all the things that I can.

If you had all the money in the world and could only shop and 3 stores, where would you shop?
Oooh let's see. Apple Store, because then I could buy myself a new Apple iMac. A Macbook Air. An iPad and a new iPhone 5. Next I'd say John Lewis as well because of ALL their lovely products and pulling a John Lewis carrier bag from the boot of your car instead of a Tesco bag just makes me feel a bit special. I'd probably treat myself to Waitrose's nosh.

Sunday Social - Reading Time

If you've been reading my blog posts for any amount of time, you've probably seen me say that I LOVE to read. So, I was very excited when I saw this week's Sunday Social questions.

Sunday Social

1. Favorite childhood book:
My favourite books as a child was anything by Enid Blyton. I loved these books and always imagined I was a fairy and lived in the Magic Faraway Tree.

2 . Favorite Book lately:
Fifty Shades Trilogy. It took me a while to get into the first book, but once I'd started it, I couldn't put it down. I have already read all three books and plan to read them all again before the year is out. I also loved Harlan Coben's Play Dead. That was another book I couldn't put down until I had finished it.

3. Book you wish you could live in:
Can I have two?
Harry Potter. Do I even need to explain? Awesome characters. Awesome places. Magical powers.
Chelsea Wives. The glitz, the glamour, the money and the lovers. Enough said.

4. If you could be any character from a book who would it be and why?
I'm not too sure, I'd probably like to be one of the Chelsea Wives from Anna Lou Weatherley's book. Imogen Forbes. She's the strong character in the book who finally ends up in the arms of the man she thought she had lost forever. I love a happy ending.

5. Favorite Book turned Movie?
I'm not really sure on this one, I will have to get back to you....

6. Favorite Magazines:
I love more magazine and cosmopolitan. I'll often buy a certain magazine if it has any freebies that I want in it. Like this month's copy of Cosmopolitan which had some L'Occitane hand cream...

30 Day Fall/Autumn photo challenge

Thinking of doing this - It sounds rather good fun and so interesting for Autumn.
The challenge I’m doing for “Photo a day October”

I might not do all of them but I'll definitely try and do most of them.

Stoptober 2012

Will you Manage to do it?

http://smokefree.nhs.uk/stoptober/

What is Stoptober you might ask? Well every year for one month a year, thousands of people across the UK will stop smoking for one month. Many will cave in after a couple of days, some will after a week, but for those who manage to last the whole month it is a very rewarding feeling.

During October, thousands of people across England are taking part in Stoptober - a new, exciting 28 day challenge to stop smoking.
There's lots of free support to help you along the way - and the great news is that by stopping smoking for 28 days, you are five times more likely to stay smokefree!

One of the ladies at Slimming World (Yes you read right...visit your own slimmingworldusa site now) said that because she didn't smoke, she was going to give up bread for a month.

What would you give up if you didn't smoke or chose not to participate?
I have decided to give up BREAD as well. Or maybe Cheese!

Man Candy Round-Up of the Week.

I haven't done one of these for a while, so I'll share a few of My Hot Totty with you today.

First up is Chris Fountain, who plays the role of Tommy Duckworth in Coronation Street. I wasn't really a big fan of him until he appeared in Corrie.
Chris Fountain- Aka Tommy Duckworth
Secondly is Jesse Metcalfe - Christopher Ewing in the New Dallas. I've always liked him since he played the part of Gabby's toyboy in Desperate Housewives.
Jesse Metcalfe - Aka Christopher Ewing
Then comes Josh Henderson. He plays John Ross Ewing in Dallas. He's not really my type but he's still hot, especially with that stetson.

Josh Henderson - Aka John Ross
Next up is Ryan Thomas. He's been playing the part of hot builder Jason Grimshaw in Corrie for a good number of years now.

Ryan Thomas - Aka Jason Grimshaw.

Finally is Liam Neeson. Ok So he's getting on a bit. I loved him in "Love Actually" and that sexy Irish Accent. Well.
Liam Neeson.
So there's my weekly totty round up. Who's on your list ?

Sunday Social

1. What is something you have wanted to do but are afraid of?
Move away from here.

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully Happily married to My Kevin with a lil Sprog.

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2012?
Going down to London to visit our friend Danielle. If we don't get to go before the years out then I'm afraid we wont be going at all. I was really looking forward to it when we originally planned to go and something came up, Kev got called into work. He had specifically  booked the day off and yet he still went in. I've still not forgiven him.

4. What are your hopes for your blog?
I'd like a few more followers than I have now.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?
Kev doesn't want to move away from here, I'm happy here but wouldn't mind being somewhere warmer and less miserable during September - April. In fact I'd love to be somewhere warmer all year round seeing British Summertime is rubbish too.

6. What is your morning routine
Wake up and think *Why do I have to get up now?*
Get washed and changed then have a quick bowl of cereal.
Head off to work, call at the shop for a bottle of fruit juice or a smoothie (Depends on my mood).
Arrive at work and apply some make-up.
Have a cup of tea before attempting to do any work whatsoever.

Me Myself & I Link up 3

Found this on Sara's blog and wanted to share it with you guys. Hope you like.

Me Myself & I Link Up 3

1) When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
You know what? I tend to just climb into bed after a nice hot bath and climb into bed with a nice hot cup of tea and watch Rom Com's.

2)  If you had to live in a different time period which would you prefer?
I'd have loved to have seen more of the 60's and 70's. I was actually an 80's and 90's child growing up.

3)  What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
I hated going out trick or treating when I was a kid. And to be honest I have NEVER worn a halloween costume.

4)  Five weird things about you we wouldn't know without being told?
1. I have manky toes, well I think they're manky, Kev says they're not.
2. I am allergic to penecillin(even though I did have to take it once, years ago).
3. I can't wear anything that has wool in it coz it makes me itch.
4. Acrylic fabrics make me itch too.
5. As does linen. But only if it's pure linen. Mixed with polyester or cotton it#s fine.

5)  What would you tell your 16-year-old self?
I'd tell myself that you should have done those A-levels and will eventually go to University.

Herbal Essences Review

I went shopping on Saturday with Kevin...Now usually I buy my beauty products from Superdrug as I have one of those Beauty Cards. Anyway whilst we were wandering through the aisles, I came across some Herbal Essence products that I have been wanting to try for a while. So seeing they're like £1.95 in Superdrug at the minute, they were £1 for all shampoos and conditioners and hair masks were £2.50 or 2 4 £4. I decided to treat myself or rather get Kevin to buy them for me....
So here's what I got...
Tousle Me Softly

Herbal Essences Shampoo Tousle Me Softly
-For a tousled look
-With wild violet and pomegranate extracts
-For naturally wavy hair
-With botanical silk extract
-Cleans to help reveal natural shine
A perfectly effortless caressable mess. This refreshingly clean shampoo provides all the toss and turn you yearn for. Who knew messy could be so beautiful.
Wild violet is a hardy plant that grows and spreads easily in the right conditions. For these reasons, it's often seen as a symbol of freedom and optimism.
I haven't used this yet, but it smells great and I never really do much with my hair anyway so this shampoo will be perfect for me.

Beautiful Ends Shampoo

Clairol Herbal Essences Split End Protection Shampoo Red Raspberry & Silk Extracts 400ml
I daily defy and defeat split ends and breakage. My luscious formula with red raspberry and silk extracts leaves your hair protected and luscious.
The first step of the V.I.P treatment your hair deserves. I used this on Sunday Morning and it just smells divine, I can honestly see how the women in the advert love the smell so much. I loved how my hair felt so soft and silky afterwards, even Kevin commented on how soft and shiny it looked. He even loved the way it smelled as well. So no doubt this will become a firm favourite.

Beautiful ends mask.

Clairol Herbal Essences Split End Protection Intensive Mask Red Raspberry & Silk Extracts 200ml.
I daily defy and defeat split ends and breakage. My luscious formula with red raspberry and silk extracts leaves your hair protected and luscious.
The first step of the V.I.P treatment your hair deserves. I suffer from split ends and dry often damaged hair due to using my hair straighteners, so this was a treat, not only for me but for my hair. You just leave on for 5mins and then rinse off. Again it left my hair feeling soft and shiny with that gorgeous Raspberry smell. Kevin couldn't get enough of the smell.
So I can honestly say that these two will definitely be used and I'll have to stock up on them whilst they're on offer at Asda!
Which Herbal Essence products do you like/use? I'd love to know.

How Much Is My Face Worth?

Hi Guys.

Sorry for not being around the last two days, but Thursday was so hectic at work, that I didn't get round to blogging that day. Yesterday was again, hectic and I went out for a drink or two with Kevin and our friend John, whom we hadn't seen for a while.

Anyway these past couple of days, I've been seeing a LOT of "How Much Is My Face Worth?" blogs popping up so as they are quite intriguing and fun to read, I decided it's about time I did mine.

So here we go.

First I'll cleanse with some simple tesco cucumber wipes - 99p to remove any traces of dirt and soften my skin. I love the smell of these wipes.

Next I'll apply my moisturiser - Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. £80. My mum actually gave me this in a set with two of these creams and a make-up bag which I use to take all my make-up and cleansing stuff to Kevin's.

Next comes the Garnier Caffeine Roll on - £9.99. I love this for hiding my dark circles under my eyes. A lot of people have said that these don't work, but I think they do.

Then comes my Collection 2000 Primed and Ready. £5.99 (it was 3.99 when I bought it.) I love this, I have been looking for a suitable make-up primer and when I came across this a few weeks ago in my local Asda (Walmart for my friends across the pond) I knew I had to try it. It goes on so smoothly and creates a lovely matte finish.

Then comes my favourite product in my make-up bag! Touche Eclait #4. £25. I had been wanting to use this for so long before getting mine whilst on holiday in Salou. My mum used to use this when it first hit the stores and swore by it. I decided I wanted to try it. I love the way it goes on so smoothly and the way in which you can blend it in to match your skin tone.

Next comes my Benefit - Moonbeam Luminous Tint - £17. I have almost finished a bottle of this little beauty. I love it. sometimes I'll just wear it on it's on with a bit of bronzer.

Next up is my Creme De La Mer - The treatment fluid foundation in Warm Beige. £65. My mum bought me this when we went to a beauty night at Selfirdges. It's so smooth and blends in perfectly with either a sponge or a brush. One of my favourite beauty products in my bag.

After that comes my bronzer/blusher. I do not have a blusher that I actually swear by.

Next is my eyeshadows. I do alternate these according to what I'm wearing that day, but my favourite ones are Bourjois Pastel Lumiere in Rose Ivory £5.25 and A brownish colour also bourjois. MAC eyeshadow in Nocturnelle. £12. The MAC eyeshadow has become my most used. It's a lovely darkish purple colour. I tried it at the same beauty night that I got my Creme De Lar Mer foundation. As it was my favourite colour I had to have it!

Next is w7 mascara. £1.99. I use this as my everyday mascara. For my night-time mascara or if I have somewhere important to go, I'll use Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara -black. £9.99.

Lisptick or gloss usually comes in the form of Bare Minerals - Rose. £12. I love this because it goes on with a brush rather than a sponge that you get with a lot of lipgloss these days.

I am anticipating that my face will be worth quite a bit seeing I have such expensive tastes in moisturisers and foundations, not to mention concealers. So here we have it, the grand total....My Face Is Worth.....

£216.21!!!!!!!!

I am shocked! But at the same time I am NOT at all surprised at this. How much is your face worth?

If You Really Knew Me

I hope that Kate doesn't mind me doing my own take on this..It was so much fun to read, so I though I'd do one of my own.
So.....

"If You Really Knew Me....You'd Know That..".

I love my fiance, Kevin to bits.
I'm trying to plan our wedding, regardless.
I am big dog lover and really want one of my own....
I am addicted to Nescafe Azera Coffee, but coffee doesn't like me.
I adore Ski Smooth Yogurts.
I enjoy being able to take random photos with my iPhone.
I want either an iPhone 4 or 4s, but can't afford the cost of a pre-paid.
I hate the fact that the warehouse guys next door to work continue to put their stuff in our loading bay so that it's easier for them, even though they are NOT supposed to...
I would like a Fiat 500 in RED if and when I can afford to change my lovely Corsa.
I am completely addicted to the "New" DALLAS.
I try to drink at least 2 bottles of water a day.
I'm completely obsessed with blogging (or at least trying to blog) everyday.
I love (and would love to have it everyday) Banrock Station Light Rose Wine. As it's only 60Cals per 125ml glass.
I don't like to watch TV at home.
I never used to watch EastEnders before I met Kevin.
I'm constantly looking for a new challenge.
I don't like my retail job right now and want out, but need to find something else first and fast...
I burst out laughing at my fiance when he farts in public and it's loud....

Photo of the day

I captured this beautiful sight from the window of the car this morning on my way to work!

Blogging Love

Blogging Love

I came across this on Fee's blog It's from a blog that she follows called Couture Girl, Kayleigh from this blog actually came up with herself. You can read Kayleigh's post here which is a really good read. So I decided to also do the tag.

The tag consists of 5 reasons why you love blogging, your blogging aims for the future, a blogging tip and to mention a blogger that has inspired you.

5 things I love about blogging...
1. Creativity -I'm always on the look out for new things to blog about whether it be Nail Art I've seen on a fellow bloggers page or something completely different. I love trying out new recipes and writing about them when I get the chance. I'm an avid amateur photographer as well, although I don't always have my camera with me.

2. People -There's a lot of people out there of whom inspire me to blog. From fellow bloggers , sometimes I'll be reading a post from a fellow blogger and think "Hmmm, I like that idea", then I'll blog about it in my own words.  Some of my favourite authors have inspired me to blog as well, I'm into writing stories so blogging can often be quite useful if you are a budding author.

3. Motivation - Sometimes I don't always have the motivation to blog, but the more blogs I read, the more it motivates me, I'm always checking blogger to see if any of my favourite bloggers have posted that day.

tumblr_m9zt6bNKP51qew3kto1_500

4. Photography - As I said earlier, I am a keen amateur photographer. I don't always take my camera out with me as it's too bulky to carry round in my work bag. Sometimes though it's handy to just have my iPhone with me. It might only be a 3gs, but it managed to capture a gorgeous picture of a rainbow this morning. (I'll post that up later!) I'd like to be able to get out and photograph more of the world with my dslr in the near future. I used to have a Canon Ixus 10, but yearned for something much more practical and more professional looking. My dear parents bought me a lovely Fujifilm s2300 for Christmas last year. It's been on a few journeys with me and hopefully will get to go on a whole lot more before I retire it.

5. A hobby turned into a career - I just see blogging as a hobby at this moment in time. Maybe when I get a bit more time on my hands it may turn into a career - watch this space.

Blogging Aim - Definitely to keep my blogs up to date and to blog more effectively. I'd like to one day have a very professional looking blog. I'd like to include more photographs and do so much more with my blog, it's just trying to find the time to blog, with working and doing such silly hours.

Blogging Tip - Simply do your own thing and do it so that it makes you happy! - I've left this because I completely agree with it!

A Blogger who has inspired me -The blogger that inspired me to start my own blog was  Michelle from Oh Mishka. her blog is such a darling to read. She always finding something to blog about and fits it into her lifestyle with such ease. My favourite posts are those that she does from the cats, her writing is style and the way in which she easily makes you feel as though you actually ARE reading a post written by her cats.
