Friday Fives

New York, Stuffed Animals,Owls and Errr - Feet.
I am 'stealing' this idea from fellow blogger Halie. She just did this yesterday, and I thought it was so cute, I had to write it down so I could do it someday myself. But I just couldn't wait and started working on it right away, so that I could just post it today! Plus, I've gotten a ton of new followers from a giveaway I'm participating in, so I figure you newbies might like to learn a little more about me. And besides, we all know how much you guys love lists right?!

I've decided to keep most of the same categories but I'm calling it Friday Fives....Hopefully Friday Fives will become a regular thing for me...So watch this space.

Sets of FIVES

Five things you'll find in my purse...
1. Nivea Caramel Creme Lip butter - for when my lips get chapped.
2. Two diaries, a pocket sized one and an A5 one.
3. iPhone USB cord...Well you never know when you might need it.
4. A reporter's notebook - for when (and if) I get an idea for a blog post.
5. My old iPhone 3gs. -It's battery might have gotten flat but it's still available for emergencies.

Five things you'll find in my bedroom...
1. Tons of stuff that doesn't have a 'home' so it just sits around somewhere - I had to leave this one alone because I am exactly the same!
2. Stuffed animals, even though I'm nearly 35 years old - I have loads.
3. Clothes that I have worn that need washing strewn at the bottom of the bed.
4. 2 Laptops. One I use for my own personal things and my mom's laptop which I use to do my business Admin course on, and because my mom's laptop is faster than mine.
5. Two shelves filled with books, mainly about Photography and fiction.

Five things I've always wanted to do...
1. Get a tattoo!
2. Go to New York.
3. Learn Photography and develop my skills.
4. Get married
5. Meet an Owl or have an Owl for a pet - just like Harry Potter.

Five random things I'm currently loving...
1. Owls and anything that has an Owl on it. My mom bought me the cutest Owl Sweater and Trinket Box for Christmas. I also sent out loads of Owl Christmas Cards. Last week at work, I bought a set of 3 earrings - just because they had an Owl with them! Oh and my Owl Scarf!
3. Green Tea. Peppermint Tea. because I'm trying not to have too much dairy. Not because I have allergies or anything.
4. Blogging.  I want to try and make some new blog friends, I love sharing and hope you guys will be kind enough to read and hopefully follow my blog.
5. The new app on my iPhone called "Happier". - It's free in the app store.

Five weird quirks I have...
1. I never used to like the taste of Green and Peppermint teas. Yet now, I can drink three or four cups a day.
2. I can be grumpy in the mornings, especially at the weekend.
3. Kevin tells me I am easy to wind up.  He's right.
4. I have a weird obsession with Kev's feet. He was born with club feet and his toes curl downwards as though he has no toes.
5. I have manky feet, or at least I think I have. Kev, however loves my feet.

Five random songs from my iPhone playlist...
1. Pupananny - Afrika Bambaataa (This one's from my old college days. I remember myself and my friends who were twin girls dancing around like nutters to this).
2. Wanna Be My Lover - La Bouche
3. Lay Your Hands on Me - Bon Jovi.
4. Levels - Avicii.
5. Let it Go - Java (This is my friend's dad's old Band. I still heart their music).

My Owl Scarf

Owl Trinket Box

That was fun, and easy! Just my favorite kind of blog post :) You guys should play along too if you want, because I always like learning more about my blog friends and I love you guys to learn some more about me. So what are some random things about you??

I wanted to participate in this last week, but had a meeting at work to prepare for, so I didn't get the chance.

This week I'd love to share some interesting facts about 1978 and the year I was born.

1978

Grease was born. I Love this film, even though I was only a baby and not old enough to remember it, I still enjoy watching John Travolta strutting his stuff today. Grease was and always will be one of my favourite films.

All of these great Actors were born in 1978.

Ian Somerhalder.

Katie Holmes

The sexy James Franco.

He reminds me of my fella Kev in these two pictures. It's definitely the chocolately brown eyes and the soft Curlyish hair. I reckon if Kev decided to grow a bit of a beard, this is how I'd picture him.

The 1978 Soccer World Cup

The 1978 FIFA World Cup, the 11th staging of the FIFA World Cup, was held in Argentinabetween 1 and 25 June. The 1978 World Cup was won by Argentina who beat theNetherlands 3–1 after extra time in the final. This win was the first World Cup title for Argentina, who became the fifth team (after Uruguay, Italy, England and West Germany), to be both hosts and world champions. The official match ball was the Adidas Tango. Argentina were rumoured to have cheated.

Number one on the 8th April 1978 - The day I was born was.

Brian & Michael - Matchstick Men & Matchstick Cats & Dogs.

House Prices back in 1978 were quite low then.

In 1978 a house might set you back £15.5k whereas now you can expect to be paying up £175.000K for a house.

Pint of Milk in 1978 £.11p
Pint of Milk in 2013 - £1.

A Loaf of bread in 1978 was £. 28p
A loaf of bread in 2013 is £1.

A Packet of 20 Cigarettes was on average £.58p in 1978
A Packet of 20 Cigarettes now in 2013 is on average £7.22!

Grange Hill  was a kids television programme about life in a modern day comprehensive (High School) began in 1978 and finished in 2008.

So there's how 1978 compares to how things are now. It's been fun to share with y'all. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed typing it.

First Things First

I'm so happy to be linking up with Halie and Hallie again this week for First Things First. I really like it because it's such fun.

This time we want to know all about:
1) First Thing You Do When You Get Home. (This one was supposed to be First Thing You Do When You Get to the Gym, but as I don't go to the gym, there was the option to do this instead).
2) First Date With Your Significant Other.
3) First Email Address.

So here goes.

1) First Thing You Do When You Get Home.
Well this one is easy. I turn the intruder alarm off and remove my shoes, then I'll make a cup of Tea and stand in the kitchen whilst watching either Deal or No Deal and Four in a Bed (depending on what time I get home).

2) First Date With Your Significant Other.
Hmm. My first date with Kevin wasn't actually a date. Well it was a date, but we weren't actually on date if you know what I mean.  It had all began the Saturday before at my friend's sister's engagement party/mum and dad's silver wedding anniversary. I had been a little reluctant to go because my ex would be there, and I wasn't really looking forward to seeing him, as we parted on somewhat (as I see it) awkward terms. So anyway, as the night went on, I was getting more and more fed up because my ex kept trying to talk to me and I was ready for going. I decided to get one last drink and then head off home. I was standing at the bar when I first spotted Kevin. He was with his friend John. Apparently he'd been looking over most of the night and me being me, hadn't really noticed until my friend Chris told me. I sort of knew Kevin through my friend Dani and had seen him round her house a few times, but never really thought "Oh he's cute." All I knew was that they had worked together and stayed friends.
So back to the night of the engagement party. Kevin offered to buy me a drink and I told him I wasn't drinking so he could get me a coke. Then he asked me if he could have my cell number. Just came straight out with it, I said no at first because of the way Al had been with me and didn't feel ready for another relationship so soon. But I gave it him anyway because he seemed nice. That was that, until the Monday night. I was having a few quiet drinks with another friend in our local bar when up popped a text from Kevin. "Hello you. How do you fancy going to the cinema on Friday? Kevin x"  I showed it my friend and she said Go for it. I told him I would and then began a night of text flirting. Anyway the next day, he text me again and said "How's about going out for something to eat first?" This time 2 kisses. That night I told him I wasn't really ready for a relationship and thought that he would leave me alone. Then a few weeks later, we were sitting in his local bar waiting for his friends (whom I had already met) when he told me that "He loved me". I was like whoah! hold on a sec, we're not officially dating or are we? "How can you be in love with me? We've not been seeing each other that long." Kevin just laughed and said "Ok. I think I'm falling for you then." The rest is just History. We've been together almost six and half years now.

This New Year's just gone.

3) First Email Address.
I think my first email address was something like Saz126athotmail.com or something like that. I don't use it much now as I've got a Google account.

Looking forward to reading yours ladies, and hopefully finding some new blog friends.

Five for 5

Monday's here again......

Hey fellow bloggers. Hope you all managed to stick to a few of your Five goals this week.

I think I did pretty well, considering.

1. Read a new book.
- It's downloaded to my kindle, I just haven't started reading it yet. So it's going green.
2. Re-submit Unit 2 of my Business Administration Course.
- Yes! Finally I can move on to Unit 3 now and complete my assessment for that unit. Which needs to be in tonight by the way. So I should really be doing that right now!
3. Have at least 2 green teas a day and loads of water.
-I am so pleased I managed to do this. I felt so much better last week for doing so. Green tea acts as a laxative and helps you to loose weight.
4. Start Unit 3 of my Business Admin course.
- I've given this one an orange this week as I have started it and just have a few little things to finish off before I can submit the final assessment tonight.
5. Be prepared for work on Thursday.
- I won't share what I had to prepare for, but let's just say it went a lot better than I had expected it to and it was nice to actually meet our Area Manager!

So on to this weeks goals.

1) Buy a blue blouse for my 2nd Interview on Thursday.
- I need to do this because my trusty white one is looking a bit tattered.

2) Drink at least "3" cups of Green tea a day.
- I had to increase this to 3 cups this week because Green tea acts as a laxative and helps you to loose weight.

3) Complete Unit 3 of Business Admin Assessment and submit it TONIGHT!
- This one need to be done tonight, I will kick myself really hard if I don't do this today.

4) Eat more fresh fruit. No bananas allowed!
- I am usually quite good when it comes to fresh fruit and veg, but I don't eat many Apples so getting a few more Apples into my day will stop me eating CRISPS (CHIPS), CAKES, ANYTHING SUGARY THAT MAKES YOU FAT!!!

5)  Make Tom Jones' (Not that Tom Jones!) slimming world chicken.
- This guy was voted "Young Slimmer of the Year" in 2012, after reading his emotional story in the March/April edition of slimming world and how he loved KFC, I thought I would try and re-create his healthy slimming world chicken recipe.

Next week's post might be a tad later, I guess it will depend on how I get on at my 2nd Interview on Thursday!!!! Wish me luck!!!
