Kev's Flat - Update pt 2

Kevin and I spoke to each other again last night...as we often do. He rang me at work around 11am and of course my shitty signal dropped. So the call was disconnected. So it was down to the old text message.

"Ring me at lunch babes x" I sent. So He rings at 12.40pm. Not being one to say much, he just proceeded to tell me that he will get the keys a week tomorrow for another flat (not the one he originally went for) as this one is fully carpeted, has a bath and a shower and gas central heating and an electric fire.

All it needs is a few licks of paint and a bit of tidying up and thats going to be just perfect! I can't wait to start helping him move into it. I have already aquired my mum and dad's old settee (if you've ever watched Gimme Gimme Gimme with Kathy Burke and James Dreyfuss, then it's similar to the one in their flat!! Very 70's!) and if I can find them, their nest of tables on loan until Kevin can get his own.
I've also managed to drag out some cutlery and kitchen utensils as well as a few plates and mugs. Hopefully Mark and his mom will be able to dig out some stuff for him too.

I really can't wait!!!! Roll on next friday!!!!!

Another I Want Installment

I Want Wednesday. This week is a list of some of the things I'd Like to buy for Kevin's new Flat!

Firstly Some Bathroom essentials.

I'd love for him to let me put one of these in.

Next would be one of these towel rails.

Next  this cute little toothbrush and toothpaste holder, which also doubles as a cup.

Lastly this shelf to go above the sink. Note how it has a hint of girly pink to it...haha.

Next up is Kitchen items. I've already swiped cutlery and a few other little bits from my mom, as she chucked out a load of things when they were replaced.

These are really cute.

I thought this set was really cute.

Another glorious spring day

Kev's flat - An Update.

I must apologise for neglecting you for the past week.
It has been something of a very busy and somewhat hectic week.

First of all, I'd like to share my good news, well I say my good news but it more Kevin's good news really. I have been hoping, praying that he would get a flat and finally be able to move out of his mom's. Well two Wednesday's ago, I had been happily texting him and subtly asked if he had heard anything. He calmy replied with "They rang me about the one behind the Turf." Then he said he was going to tell me on Saturday! How dare he make me wait until Saturday! I was soooooo excited, So excited that I ran downstairs and told my mom....So now he has to wait until Monday when he will hopefully get those MAGIC keys and we can finally get to spend more time together rather than just seeing each once a week.....

I am really happy that he has got the one behind the Turf...It looked lovely from the outside and it's a ground floor flat too and it's supposed to have a Garden at the back. But it's a shared Garden, but hey who cares? I am looking forward to Summer and BBQ's and having friends round and staying up drinking until late with some soft subtle music....It's not too far from the View if we want to go out for a drink or two. It's just five minutes from his mom's and his brother's. So at least when I'm not there he can go round to his mom's or Mark's.

I just can't wait until he gets those keys and we can start moving his stuff in. I've already got some cushions for him, we have a small fridge and a small oven and cooker, and a spare microwave at work. My mom has said that he can have the old curtains out of the dining room and our old settee (that's if it's not too big!) for his living room. I've just found some cutlery that I might ask him about. So really all he'll need then for the kitchen is some salt and pepper pots, a few plates and bowls, some glasses and mugs and a few pots and pans! I am going to root through all mom's old stuff tonight to see what I can find for him. I know his mom and Mark will chip in with stuff too! I just wanna make my own contributions too and if I can get some hand me downs and stuff then all the cheaper!

Thankful Thursday

Here's a few of the things I am thankful for this week.

I am really really happy today after a text convo I had with Kevin last night.

costco - A trade warehouse, originally in the USA, now worldwide, they have loads of foods and electrical goods, clothing and sporting goods. We've been members for a good few years and I always look forward to being able to go and find something new.

My Iphone - yes again. I'm learning new things about it every day.

Mine and Kevin's patience. Kevin finally got a call from Calico about a flat he has had his eye on. Now we just have to wait for them to give him the keys so we can go and have a look at it! I can't wait to see what it's like and hopefully he'll move in and I can start making my mark on it!!!

Totally Awkward Tuesday

Totally Awkward Tuesday again. This weeks story is a short one.

Kevin and I had been seeing each other for a couple of months and had been out for a few drinks, before going back to his place.

He had said that I should stay there, as my folks were out for the night. So I did.

Kevin had not checked it ok with his mom though and the next morning he got up and went downstairs to make us both a brew.

As he went downstairs, his mom got up and came to ask him if he wanted a brew. Imagine the surprise when she found me in his bed. I couldn't look her in the eyes for a good few months after that.

I Want Wednesday

Hmmm. Let's see. What's on my list of Wants this week.....

1. A new Job. I am getting so bored with my current position at the sports shop. It's gone from 4 shifts a week to like 1 shift. I can't live on that. If kevin hears anything from Calico about the flat.....

Totally Awkward Tuesday

TAT Tuesday. Yes It's time for Totally Awkward Tuesday again. This week I'd Like to share the story of my obsession with a certain Kevin. No not my Kevin. This is another Kevin. My first crush.

We were both in 6th Grade and sat opposite sides of the classroom. Our desks were very similar to the ones you see in american high schools only they were arranged in sets of four or more, like a table. Our teacher had arranged it so we were sat two of each sex at the same table. Anyway back to Kevin. I used to sit across from Danny, with whom I am still quite good friends, Kevin sat opposite and adjacent to me on the same side as Mr Brown's desk. I used to stare at him, pretending I was looking out of the window.

I remember the day well.  It's still etched in the back of my mind. We had just come back from lunch and were preparing for our final lesson of the day. Physical Education. Today was cross country running. I was not a particulary good runner, never have been, I could run just not very well. Anyway, school had decided that the girls would wear their gym skirts. The boys their shorts. So off we went to get changed, we were to meet on the top playground. Mr Brown told us to run up the hill, down the other side, across the playing field to the bottom, round and back up the hill and back down. Everything was going fine, of course the boys were all showing off and were soon back on the playground, teasing each other, laughing and joking at a certain male who hated Physical Education.

I was at the top of the hill on my way back down to the playground, when suddenly my foot slipped from under me and I went head first down the hill and landed in the puddle of mud at the bottom. Everyone, including Kev was laughing at me. I never did cross country again! My crush on Kev soon disappeared after that!

How I met You!

I'd like to share my story of how I met my wonderful Fiance Kevin with you.

I'd already met him once or twice at my friend Danielle's house. Kevin and Danielle used to work together and had become good friends outside of work. I had called round one Saturday afternoon and Kevin happened to stop by to drop off some movies that he had promised her. We simply said hello and that was that. I have to admit that I didn't really fancy Kevin much at this point. To me, he was simply Danielle's friend Kev.

Then a couple of years later, Danielle had gone off travelling round australia, being Danielle, she ran out of money and had to come back home. I had also become good friends with her sister Leonie, now Leonie had planned a surprise 25th Wedding Anniversary Party for her folks, who had no idea about the party. Leonie and her boyfriend Mark had planned their engagement party for the same night. Anyway back to "How I Met You."

As the even got into full swing, I was happily chatting away to some mutual friends of mine and Danielle's, and Kevin's too, when Chris said...."Kevin keeps looking over at you." "Yeah, let him." I didn't bother as I kind of still had a soft spot for my ex, who was also at the party. But come the end of the night, Kevin and I had swapped numbers and arranged to go out for a meal the following Saturday.

I decided to go out for a meal with him to see what happened next...we chatted and got to know each other but I still didn't fancy him much at this point, then one monday night or was it tuesday (I can't remember ) I was with my friend talking about him and we were phone flirting with each other. I got home and wrote Kevin a long letter, explaining how I really felt about him and we arranged to meet up for a drink the following day. I gave him the letter and he read it when he got home. He phoned me the next day, as it was late and that was it. We were offically seeing each other. We've been together for three years now and I love him more than anything else in the world. Thankyou for being my fiance Kevin...I love you. xxx

Valentines post pt 1

Thankful for Friday

Today I'm thankful for this. Water refreshes me better than tea or coffee. I usually get through between 3-4 50cl bottles a day.

Lately I've been feeling a bit groggy and think I may have a touch of the old flu...(not swine flu coz I wouldn't be here typing this.)  These are fab. Last time I felt like this I only took four and felt much better the next day.

Twitterific Application for my iphone. I can keep up to date when I like. And tweet when I like.

This too. Blogpress App. Ok so I may not blog from it a lot...but i think its dead handy to have because you just never know when you might want to share something on the go.

Again my iphone is on this list.
