After a quiet evening in the glory last night, I went to work this morning only to be told that I could finish early so here I am. Anyway decided to go into town and have a nosey in the sales. Didn't find anything in New Look or River Island that took my fancy so thought I would venture into marks and Spencer. Nothing in there either. Next was Dorothy Perkins. Now usually I don't buy clothes from Dot's but when I saw this top I knew I had to try it on.
Tried it on and it was nice fit, so went to see if I could put it to one side, on the off chance that mother would come with me to see it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it was a size 8! and not a size 12 as I had assumed.
So tonight that will be coming out with me.....I'm really quite shocked!

Thursday Blues
Today has been another crappy day. I have not been out all day because the weather has been crap. Cold and wet and windy again as usual.
Now normally at this time on a thursday I would be making my way over to kev's but seeing as he's away on business in London, I have to make do with staying at home.
I could venture out to the cold dark depths of the Glory for a drink or two, but to be honest I can't really be bothered. I think i'll have an early night, as I have to be at work for 9 tomorrow. The first of two days that I am in this week.
Seriously though, it is starting to feel like I am back at marks and spencer doing ten measly hours a week ( well its not even ten this week). I mean I like this new job more as I am working with younger people and not a bunch of middle aged women who are content in their job. At SD I can have a laugh and a joke with the people I work with, they all have a sense of humour. But tomorrow I am going to try and blag some more hours out of them, purely because I am only working in my other job one day a week now. Hopefully Diane will understand and give me some more shifts next week, because this working two days is not helping at all!
Hopefully this will bring back some memories for those of you who are old enough to remember it....
It is of course the Theme from the Hitman & Her.

Winter Blues
Hello fellow bloggers.
Well what started out as a nice sunny winter's day has turned into a cold wet and windy evening. It's something that we're used to up here in the North West of Blighty. Cold, Wet, windy and generally miserable winters. Now don't get me wrong, I actually quite like the snow. Always have liked the snow. It reminds of when I was a kid and used to go sledging in the back fields behind Hamer Ave with nearly all the kids, old and young from our estate, Hamer Ave and Goodshaw Ave.
Every year when it snowed we'd all get wrapped up in our best winter gear and go sledging, come back piss wet through and get changed then we'd be back out until dark.
Ahhhh memories.
Now the strangest winter I remember wasn't actually winter, well it was here but not where I was. It was in fact summer. Yes we were in Australia. This was the winter(sorry summer) of 1994/95, when my family decided that it was time we visited my grandparents, uncles and aunties who lived down under.
So off we went. Of course this year there was no need for a christmas tree, no need for present buying and no TURKEY sandwiches for the next three weeks. So instead relatives arrived and we had our christmas dinner in the sun without a TURKEY in sight.
That's one Christmas I'll never forget!
